I have a 1995 Sport, it came with just a fuel gauge and a speedometer and idiot lights. I was able to integrate a tach into the housing from an older XJ, but recently got the entire assembly from a Country that has speedometer, trip odometer, tach, fuel, oil pressure, water temp, and battery. I want all those gauges and was thinking about a custom setup using Autometer gauges, but it would be expensive and a hassle to install all the sending units. I had a mechanical oil pressure gauge but that cheap nylon hose broke. My question is this; can I simply plug in the unit from the Country with no other mods and have it work? I am sure it will plug right in, but will the new gauges work? Are the sending units already on my Sport stripper edition? If they aren't could someone tell me what I would need? Thanks!!

Well, got no reply, but I figured out what needed to be done. When you get the new gauge cluster from the donor, go ahead and get the oil pressure sending unit from the fitting just above the oil filter on the passenger rear side of the engine. It is noticeably longer than the idiot light sending unit. Also, remove the water temp sending unit from the top, rear drivers side corner of the head. It will have a single wire running from it. I was going to remove it from my donor, a 96 Country, but I would have to taken the valve cover loose to get a socket on it. I just went to the local Jeep dealer and ordered a brand new one. Make sure you get the sender for the GAUGE and not the LIGHT. Mine cost $17. The gauge cluster bolted right in and worked perfectly. You might have some issues with the odometer mileage recorded, but I was within 20 miles, so no big deal for me.
